The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, embraces a child-centered educational approach based on the scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori’s Method has been time-tested, with over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world. The Montessori Method embraces a student-centered approach to education that encourages students to reach their full potential through creativity, curiosity, exploration, and independent thinking.
Montessori is the original educational system, dedicated to the development of the whole child, and remains on the cutting edge of current thinking in education, brain research, and child development. Its longevity and continuing relevance are due to Dr. Maria Montessori’s years of intense study of children and how they learn and grow. The carefully designed and sequenced materials engage the child and support physical, intellectual, and emotional development at each stage of growth.
The Montessori Method views the child as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child: physical, social, emotional, and cognitive.
The trained Montessori teacher, the student, and the environment create a learning triangle. The classroom is prepared by the teacher to encourage independence, freedom within limits, and a sense of order. Through individual choice, the student uses what the environment offers to develop himself, interacting with the teacher when support and/or guidance is needed.
Dr. Montessori observed that children experience sensitive periods, or windows of opportunity, as they grow. As their students develop, Montessori teachers match appropriate lessons and materials to these sensitive periods when learning is most naturally absorbed and internalized.
Our commitment to the Montessori philosophy includes having a mixed-age grouping that provides a dynamic learning environment promoting collaboration and mutual growth. Older students, acting as mentors, deepen their understanding through teaching, while younger peers benefit from personalized guidance. This collaborative model nurtures a supportive community and instills respect for diverse perspectives.
Pre-KG (Age 3 years old by the end of September)
Our Pre-KG program provides students with the opportunity to use their five senses for learning, thereby reinforcing their impressions and the belief that the hand is an instrument of the mind. Basic Curriculum components in the Montessori program include practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language arts, science, and cultural studies. All of these subjects are taught in an age and ability-appropriate manner.

KG 1 (Age 4 years old by the end of September)
Our KG 1 environment is prepared for students from the age of 4 years, with materials appropriate for the age. Students accomplish their goals and work independently by gaining confidence and practice in a particular skill. This classroom focuses on all five areas of the classroom: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, and Cultural.

KG 2 (Age 5 years old by the end of September)
The KG 2 educational environment is designed to help students develop as total human beings. The environment is structured in a way that cultivates the student’s own natural desire to learn.
Special didactic materials used in the Montessori environment meet this objective by allowing the student to perfect his/her own natural tools for learning. The Montessori materials have a long-range purpose as well as the immediate goal of providing the child with specific information while maintaining enthusiasm for learning.
